Check It Out – Day 5

Moda Fabrics is another great website with many free patterns.

On the Home page is a pictorial explanation of jelly rolls, charm packs, layer cakes, etc.  If you are not familiar with the terms, this is very helpful.

There is a blog with interesting posts like this one about a bucket list.

The free patterns are the best. Many are quick and easy and they are divided out in categories like accessories, apparel, baby and kids,  home decor, quilts, totes, seasonal and “stuffed stuff.”    There are great totes here

Check It Out – Day 4

Don’t miss the Shop Hop Bunny.

FabShop Hop

I have won things like gift certificates, thread and fat quarters.   It will introduce you to lots of new online stores along with brick and mortar stores.  Because of this website, I have visited  Somewhere Sewing when my daughter lived in Ohio.  One of our fairly local stores, Batiks Etcetera, located in Wytheville, VA  has a Bunny on their website.

Check It Out – Day 2

Connecting Threads is another website that I use frequently.   They are a United States-based company and fabric prices are a little cheaper than most name brands.  They have sales on batting, tools, books and fabrics.  My favorite sale is when the kits are on clearance.  Zipper bags, totes, purses, quilts, etc can be found at great bargain prices.
The blog is a great place to get tips and tricks and learn about new trends.  They are constantly adding new patterns that can be downloaded for free.  Lots of great ideas can be found here

Check It Out

I love to search the Internet for project ideas. tips, techniques and new ways to do things and, then share my finds with others. “Check It Out” is a new feature that I will be doing for the next 30 days.

The websites may contain free patterns or tips and techniques and I will point out my favorite items on the website.

Today’s post is Nancy Zieman’s website — Nancy’s Notions

There are generally sales and clearance items as well as new ideas and new notions, tools, fabrics, etc.

Check out the “Inspiration” page for free patterns and ideas. Right now   Jelly Roll Stockings Pattern   is free.
